Bring out your inner villain and see old favourites hit the table!
Now there are no Dark Pokémon in the set, like the older Team Rocket sets but some of the attacks have the same names for you train spotters out there.
More for the collectors who love connected scenes through the artwork, you will love to know we have another with this set! It is drawn by Ayako Ozaki.
Right now onto the main course
ROCKET’S POKEMON!
This set is loaded with Rocket’s Pokémon - I’m just highlighting a few here!
For the Porygon fans, our weird and wonderful digital Pokemon is back. Not a bad attack but 20 damage per rocket supporter, would have been better if was every Team Rocket Trainer card!
For the crowd favourite, now it’s Rocket’s Meowth and not the same one from Jessie and the James days where Meowth was sassy back chatting part of the team, occasionally whipping out those claws when he remembered he was a Pokemon! So Don’t be worried that this one is on all fours.
Rocket’s Persian is definitely a wild player, chancing the top 10 cards, I’ll definitely be doing it for a bit a fun, may not be consistent but sure to see some epic plays.
Just a couple of rats doing the rat thing, Raticate will be a fun play at the prereleases but expect to see these guys scuttling around too much than that.
Rocket’s Sneasel might make a fun back up attacker deep into the game where your opponents damage is starting to rack up for a cheeky knock outs. Other than I love the art for Rocket’s Murkrow and I am still not sure what he is quite up to yet, the attack torment will definitely find your opponents cursing in prereleases!
Rocket’s Koffing & Weezing, the originals from the series, still causing mischief and mayhem.
While I’m a big fan of electric Pokemon, the Rocket’s line up they just don’t cut it as a decent play. Rocket’s Hypo, again a fun play, might be good for all those players who never hit a heads on their coin flips!
With Rocket’s Mewtwo ex, I can’t to see how this one develops! Look at that HP for a basic!
The easiest way is to turn off the ability and let this bad boy take centre stage! Definitely feels like a Gardevoir pairing but I am curious to what the players are cooking up.
Rocket’s Wobbuffett, just another favourite from series “Waaw-ba-fet”! Also a good switch in option when your Rocket Pokemon just scraped through a near knock out. Easier than healing.
Rocket’s Chingling, maybe not as good as the latest Budew but will be a fun none the less!
I love a copy cat deck so Rocket’s Mimikyu will definitely be hitting the tables as fun play.
Rocket’s orbettle as a stage 2 might be a wee bit tricky to get going but combined with Rocket’s Wobbuffett, we could see some serious damage being moved about.
Rocket’s Tyranitar, while he is a beastly boy, he will be too energy hungry to see alot of play.
Rocket’s Arbok will surely annoy all of the trainers out there with its ability however it’s let down by its attack which is a little weak in my opinion.
Rocket’s Nidoking ex definitely a hard hitter with either attack and with all the extra poison support around I wouldn't be surprised to see a few big knockouts!
Just because we also love blobs I’ve also included them but they also have some interesting attacks. Corrosive sludge from Rcoket’s Grimer isn’t a total loss when matched up against it. Discarding a Pokemon is a much better alternative to having a knock out more often and giving up a prize card. I’d also like to see Rocket’s Muk use Venom Hazard, 100 damage per special condition is nothing to be scoffed at but can often be difficult to stack special conditions on opponents Pokemon.
Now that I’ve said my 2 cents, I will also introduce this special energy, so everything I have said or not said about Pokemon that are energy hungry may all go out the window for some players as new double energy comes into play with set as well!
Brace yourself, Team Rocket is back!
